The “Hinerangi” Studs SOUTHDOWNS & ROMNEYS The Southdown Flock was founded in 1914, with ewes from Geo. Rhodes, Meadowbank. At intervals, highly-priced, selected rams from Jas. Knight stud have infused the flock. The "Hinerangi" type possess a good length carcase, deep shoulders and excellent constitution. Rams have been, extensively used by fat-lamb producers in Hawke's Bay and Manawatu, with highly satisfactory results. The Romney Flock was founded on ewes selected from J. McLeod, Whakapuni, Wairarapa and has been strongly infused with "Penrose" blood.
