The many mothers at the Auckland railway station on Wednesday to farewell sons leaving for camp at Ngaruawahia as members of the special military force constituted a large part of the" gathering. Women were in the majority at both the drill hall and the station. Farewells came to an abrupt end in many cases, as there were only a few minutes between the time the contingent arrived at the station and the departure of the train.
