NURSE’S ACCIDENT
Hospital Board Has Full Report

CHRISTCHURCH, September 27.
A full report on an accident suffered by Nurse O.. Newton, of the Kaikoura Hospital, who fell from rocks in the Kaikoura Peninsula, has been obtained by the North Canterbury Hospital Board in accordance with a decision made at a recent meeting. Nurse Newton was away 36 hours before she was found. The hospital committee’s report to the board stated that the absence of Nurse Newton would have been detected earlier had a proper system of checking in and out been in operation, and instructions have been given for this to be carried into effect. Nurse Newton was now in the Christchurch Hospital as a patient, and would be there for from five to eigln: weeks.- The board decided to grant Nurse Newton full sick leave in accordance with the board’s bylaws.
