YACHTSMEN MEET

Port Nicholson Chib OFFICERS ELECTED Many yachtsmen gathered at the Wellington Boat Harbour on Tuesdaynight for the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club’s annual meeting, when preparations for the coming season were discussed.

The new commodore, Mr. J. A. Barker, congratulated ex-Cmnmodore R. N. Bennett and his committee on the sound financial position of the club as shown on the balance-sheet.

A presentation made to the honorary auditor, Mr. W. Brooke-Taylor, took the form of the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club’s pennant embroidered on silk with suitable inscription. Making the presentation, Mr. R. N. Bennett said ihat, being one of the oldest active ■yachting members, Mr. Brooke-Taylor ’.had given service to the club for a great many years. A further presenta■tion was made to the retiring honorary secretary, Mr. R. M. Smith. Officers for this year are :—
