FIRST FOALS
Colts By Nightmarch Dominion Special Service CHRISTCHURCH, September 26. The three first foala of the season at A.' Louisson’s stud farm are colts, all by Nightmarch, the dams being Praise, dam of Russian Ballet, iStarmist by Autumnus from Stardancer, and Red Helen by Limond from Praise. Nightmarch has started the new season well as a sire or winners, as he has already been represented -by -Night Dress. Night Eruption. Gay Parade and Fpi-riby. There was no serious galloping at Riccarton today, all of the horses booked to race at Wingatui next week being let off with useful work. Only one horse was schooled, and this was Dranoel, who jumped- four hurdles at a fast pace. Interest will be attacheel to this geldings first appearance in a hurdle race,, but it is intended to keep him at flat racing for a few mouths yet, though he will be given occasional schooling. The Sandwish Alan .was to have contested a hurdle race at Wingatui, but struck himself on the second day of the Geraldine meeting, and has had to be eased up. It is now intended to prepare him for flat, racing at the New Zealand Cup meting.
