Yesterday’s Reports

Wellington: Dull and overcast with a cool south-easterly breeze. Occasional showers fell on the eastern hills, but none in the city. The minimum temperature on Tuesday night was -13.9 deg., and the maximum yesterday uO.Odeg. At .6 p.m. yesterday the temperature was 46.9 deg., and the barometer reading 1020 millibars.

Palmerston North; Dull and cool, with the sky mainly -overcast and occasional drizzles. Right southerly breeze. New Plymouth: Fine with bright sunshine and light passing cloud. A light southerly wind. Cool temperature. Barometer at 5 p.m., 1012.3 millibars. Masterton: Overcast, with occasional showers of drizzling rain. Mild temperatures and a light north-easterly breeze.

Napier and Hastings: Further rain in the morning, but the weather cleared in tlie afternoon. Light s'outh-west wind.

Waipukurau:: A dull day, with frequent light showers. Maximum temperature. 54 degrees. The barometer had a rising tendency, the reading at 7 p.m. being 1021 millibars. Auckland: Fine and sunny, with a clear sky and a light east to northerly wind. Maximum temperature, 61 degrees; minimum, 49 degrees. The barometer rose steadily and the 5 o’clock reading was 1016 millibars. Christchurch: After a dull morning the afternoon was sunny. There was cold, slight to fresh north-easterly breeze. Maximum temperature, 50.2 degrees. The barometer at 5 p.m. was falling slowly at 1018 millibars, 30.06 inches. Dunedin: The sun shone from a cloudless sky. There was a light breeze, which moved from the south-west, in the morning to the north-east in the latter part of the day.
