Bv an order made by the Treasury owners of certain specified securities were directed to make a return of their holdings to the Bank of England by September 26. By an amending order the period during which the return must be made has now been extended to October 9. Securities specified in the original order were securities in respect of which principal, interest, or dividends are payable in the currency of any of the following countries: — Argentina, Belgium, Canada, France, Holland, Dutch East Indies, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and U.S.A., or in respect of which the holder has an option to require payment of principal, interest, or dividends,' in the currency of any of those countries. Henry Berry (A/asia) Ltd. Investigations invited by the directors of Henry Berry and Co. (Australasia). Ltd., have disclosed a substantial overstatement of assets in the accounts of the subsidiary companies, according to a report to the Melbourne Stock Exchange. This, the directors state. will be the subject of a report.to the annual meeting, which has been tentatively fixed for October 20. which “A’’ class preference shareholders will be invited to attend. The report states that the preference shareholders’ capital is intact, and that the company's general business is sound, trading for Mie year having been maintained at the level of recent years. The directors have decided that Hiey cannot recommend the payment of a final preference dividend for the financial year ended September 15. Gold Mining Returns The Grey River Dredging Co., Ltd., reports a return of 3500 z. from 89,380 cubic yards worked in 1324’hours. By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN. September 27. The Clutha dredge return was 620 z. for 120 hours. The Okarito return was 340 z. 3dwt. for 1334 hours. Wunderlich Ltd. Dividend Wunderlich, Limited, Sydney, has advised the Stock Exchange Association that an interim dividend at the unchanged rate of 7 per cent, per annum on ordinary shares and 7 per cent, per annum on the three classes of preference shares will be paid to shareholders registered on October 19 Placer Development Placer Development Ltd. reports that for the three months to September 1 Plato Consolidated Gold Dredging Ltd. dredged 4,004,000 cubic yards for a recovery of 12,6710 z. of fine gold and recovered with its hydraulic units 19470 z. of fine gold, the value of the total production being 511.630 dollars (Canadian). During the same period Asuazn Gold Dredging Ltd. handled 199,000 cubic yards, recovering 25990 z. fine gold, equivalent to 89,565 dollars (Canadian).

Myer Emporium Profit \ preliminary statement issued by the directors of Myer Emporium, Ltd., Melbourne, reports that profit for the year ended July 31 was £380,080, compared with £379,369 in the previous year. A final dividend of 3 per cent., with a bonus’ of 3 per cent., making an unchanged total of 9 per cent, for the year, is recommended.
