Bv an order made by the Treasury owners of certain specified securities were directed to make a return of their holdings to the Bank of England by September 26. By an amending order the period during which the return must be made has now been extended to October 9. Securities specified in the original order were securities in respect of which principal, interest, or dividends are payable in the currency of any of the following countries: — Argentina, Belgium, Canada, France, Holland, Dutch East Indies, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and U.S.A., or in respect of which the holder has an option to require payment of principal, interest, or dividends,' in the currency of any of those countries. During the same period Asuazn Gold Dredging Ltd. handled 199,000 cubic yards, recovering 25990 z. fine gold, equivalent to 89,565 dollars (Canadian).

Myer Emporium Profit \ preliminary statement issued by the directors of Myer Emporium, Ltd., Melbourne, reports that profit for the year ended July 31 was £380,080, compared with £379,369 in the previous year. A final dividend of 3 per cent., with a bonus’ of 3 per cent., making an unchanged total of 9 per cent, for the year, is recommended.
