Play in the legal golf tournament in Palmerston North during the weekend enabled the, semifinals to be reached. Today the course was in good order. A medal round on Saturday was won by W. L. Fitzherbert, and the afternoon medal resulted in a tie between L. M. Abraham and Id. J. Thompson. A bogey handicap was won by A. M. Ongley. i , Today tbie Distress Kuuiwines resulted in a tie between F. I’. Fawcett'and S. A. Warren. and J. R. Bennett and A. M. Ongley. The fourball was also a tie. between D. €. Cullinane and D. M. Abraham. and McDuff and E. Haldane, each being 4 up. Chief interest centred on the Devil s Own Championship, which resulted in a T*’in for A. sf. from C. Arm- : strong, 3 and 2. i The Mortgagors’ Relief Stakes wenv ■ to A. T. Young, who beat W. Middleton I at the twentieth. The Destitute Persons Plate was won by D. R. Richmond from B.
