HARRIER RUNS

University Club’s Outing’ At Paekakariki The home of Mr. G. C. Sherwood, Paekakariki, was the starting point of the University Harrier Club’s, run on Saturday. The runners were divided into two packs and both began by covering part of the Sherwood Cup course. The trail led across country by the golfhouse and skirted the golf course to the road. Thence the slow pack crossed the road and climbed the side of the hills, crossed a stream and eventually came on to a ridge which was followed down to the flat again. After a short piece of road work the runners cut across the paddocks again toward the beach to the starting point. The fast pack did not go on to the hills but continued along the road and through tlie paddocks on the flat, ending up by running along the beach. Some of the members finished oft the run with a refreshing plunge into the sea. After the run members were the guests of Mr. Sherwood at afternoon tea. Next Saturday the club's final run of the season will be held from Kelburn.
