Values Maintained For Fat Sheep At Gisborne BEEF SELLS BRISKLY Dominion Special Service GISBORNE, September 23. Last week’s values for fat sheep were maintained at the Gisborne stock sale. No exceptional lots were offering. Ewes made 14/2 to 16/4, shorn ewes (their first appearance), 10/- 'to 11/4; Down hoggets. 14/9 to 16/9; second-grade ewes, 8/- to 12/3. The store sheep entry was of moderate size and the sale was brisk, with values firm to improving. Hoggets, extra, made 16/6, good 15/4, average sorts 12/to 13/4; ewe hoggets, good, 18/6 to 19/6; good shorn, 13/9; store ewes, only medium quality, sold well at 7/1 to 9/3 ; Down hoggets, well grown, good stores, 11/9; ewes running with lambs, one counted, 13/3 to 17/-. Beef met a brisk sale. Station cows made to £6/12/-; unfinished, £4/10/-; Jersey cows, prime, £5/2/- to £5/7/6; others £3/7/6 to £4/13/-; station heifers, £6/14/-; Jerseys, £5/12/-; vealers, to £2/15/-.'
