TE RAPA GALLOPS

Young Paddon And Ngawiri Work Well Dominion Special Service. HAMILTON, September 23. A'smart half-mile by Young Paddon and Ngawiri was the outstanding feature of this morning’s programme at Te Kapa, when the going on the course proper, 50ft. out from the rails, was in splendid order. The schooling of several horses also added to the interest of the work which was carried out under ideal conditions. British Sovereign (Watson) was shading Gascyne (J. Mclnally) at the conclusion of a round in 2.18, time on which they could have improved. The Inflation filly, Lady Bloater (Brown), and the Lord Warden filly (Mclnally) dashed over two- furlongs along the back in 25 2-5. Master Brierly (C. L. Goufebro) finished on to account for Saint Musk (J. Mclnally) over a circuit in 2.13 4-5, the first half-mile occupying 5S .1-5. Master Brierly executed his work well ami. with the firming of the tracks, he may soon be seen to advantage. Miss Bridge (Taylor), with the assistance of Flashing Spear (Amundsen), over the first three furlongs in 39 2-5, got to the end of half a mile in 551. Diversity (Ensor)' was dear of Australian Star (McLaughlin) at the end of five furlongs in 1.9, the first half mile in 55 2-5. Diversity has been working well of late and should show to advantage when called on to race. The 'best half-mile of the morning was that of Young Paddon (.1. Mclnally) and Ngawiri (Ensor) who, after running their first three furlongs in 37 3-5, got to the end of half a mile in 52 1-5. Both hit out attractively and should make early amends. Manerloo (J. Mclnally) and Trig Station (C. L. Goulsbro), hit out over half a mile in 54 1-5. A. J. Julian’s string, Royal Bachelor, Mayfair, Lady Bambury and the two-year-old Marshall Hall were worked usefully over varying distances. Iskray (Taylor) and Mio Generale tO. Mclnally) were schooled over the hurdles and got through their task satisfactorily. Rotlioon (C. L. Goulsbro) and Mio Fratollo (Ampndsen) went out for a school over four hurdles, Mio Fratollo pulling out after negotiating the second fence as the result of a stirrup leather ■breaking. Rothoon carried on alone and gave a satisfactory exhibition. OTAKI MAORI MEETING Weights Declared Following are the weights declared. byMr. 11.
