I There was nothing about the annual Law ball in Wellington last night to remind dancers of the solemn profession of their hosts. If lawyers and magistrates are serious people in their professions, they certainly lol! their professions, they certainly doff their progowns and prove that their abilities also embrace the social arts. The ball, which is a combined affair sponsored by the Law Faculty Club and the Law Students’ Society, was arranged with smooth efficiency and was the usual social success. The Rt. Hon. Sir Michael Myers, Chief Justice, who is patron of the Law Students’ Society, and Lady Myers were host and hostess. Lady Myers wore ,a handsome gown of wlue velvet with a matching coatee. Others in the official party were Air. J. 11. Luxford, S. and Mrs. Luxford, Mr. AV. F Stilwell, SAI, and Airs Stilwell, Professor J. Williams and Airs. AVilliams, Mr. A. T. Young, president of the Wellington Law Society, and .Airs. Young,

The hall was decorated with groups of balloons hung about the wall and bunched on the ceilings. The entire balcony was decorated in a panel effect with the Victoria University College colours of green and gold. The committee responsible for arrangements comprised Messrs. N. A. Morrison, T. G. N. Carter, S. T. ShayleGeorgc, J. D. Gerard and T. G. N. Carter.
