Collision .On Johnsonville Hill Finding for the plaintiff, the jury in the Supreme Court, IVellingiton, which heard the suit of Wilson Stanley Croft, tramway conductor, 'Wellington, against J. Mcllraith and Co., Ltd., wine and spirit merchants, Wellington, and Leonard John Troy, their driver, fixed at the full amount claimed. Special damages amounting to £216 were awarded and general damages at £l5OO.

The case was a claim for damages arising from a collision between a mo-tor-cycle ridden by plaintiff and a mo-tor-truck, owned by the company and driven by Troy, on the Johnsonville Hill on February 3. Plaintiff was injured' in the head and right arm and alleged that the -truck had been driven negligently. Mr. W. P.' Rollings, counsel for plaintiff, moved for judgment in accordance with the verdict, but Mr. Evan Parry, counsel for defendants, moved for judgment for his Clients and for a new trial on the ground that the verdict was against the weight of evidence. The Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) adjourned -the motions and extended the time for moving/for a new trial to seven lays.
