Wellington Interclub Competition I By BATTLEDOItM With the Wellington Badminton Association’s interclub competitions drawing to a close, the various grades have reached an interesting stage. All grades, with the exception of A, are still in doubt., imbledon, having completed their season’s fixtures without a loss, are assured ot the A grade championship. St. Thomas and Wimbledon are so far both unbeaten in the B grade, and have yet to meet. A. Blake, of St. Thomas, lias been playing consistently, having not lost a match this season. , . w Kelburn, in C grade, by defeating Winter Show during the week, are the only unbeaten team in the grade, and with only one more match to play, appear the likely winners. , . Winter Show owe their successes to tjieir women who have won 22 of the 24 games they have played. The D grade is still open, Harbour Board and Waiwetu being both undefeated, and have yet to meet. The result, no doubt, will decide the winners of the grade. Technical and Waterloo will be the finalists in E grade. Both teams have been playing very well, neither team having had a loss. F grade is still in doubt, as St. John s, without a loss, and E.S.U., with one draw, have still to meet. Winter Show and Terrace are both undefeated in G grade, and their meeting, which will be watched with interest, will decide the championship. The Wellington and North Island championships and handicap tournament wil be held at the Winter Show building from August 28 to September 2. With the interest that has been shown in this season’s interclub games, record entries are anticipated. In the colts representative match, Wairarapa v. Wellington, to be played at the Winter Show building tonight, Miss M, Sissons (Waiwetu) replaces Miss B. Strang, who is unavailable.
