Support From Japanese And Chinese The following message about tbe movement I'm- .Moral Rearmament lias been cabled to the Oxford Group. Wellington :— “Generalissimo and Madame Chiang Kai-shek cabled unqualified support to .M.R.A. (Moral Rearmament I Day al the San Francisco World Fair on August 1. M.R.A. Day was announced 1 by Mayor Rossi of San Francisco as Hie climax to the .M.R.A. Assembly, which was attended by BO.OOtI people of 30 nations in the past week. The Clming Kai-sheks cabled: —We respond wholeheartedly to your stirring call. Accept this expession of our unqualified support. Moral’ Rearmament may, we believe, eventually override the influence of power politics by harnessing the innate goodness and goodwill of every nation and every thinking individual. "Today from the great meeting in the World’s Fair. Japanese and Chinese delegates challenged their nations in a joinl broadcast to apply the principles 'of .M.R.A. "The spokesman for Japan was Mr.
T. S. Mitsui, who said at the closing session of the assembly. ‘Every nation must be different if the future of the Far East is to be other than chaos and misery. M.R.A. on a national and world wide scale is our only hope, and no nation can afford to wait till some other nation begins.’ "Stephen Nakata, a Japanese student, said. 'Hundreds of us are committed to this battle for peace so that we may no more be troublemakers for the world but reconcilers of nations.’ •'Among Chinese representatives were Dr. E. S. Tyau, former president of the Chinese Medical Association, and Miss Phyllis Teng, daughter of the former Chinese Minister of Education. Another Chinese delegate said, ‘M.R.A. has manifested the only common ground on which China and Japan can unite in building a new Far East.’ ”
