New Zealand Stud Sheep Included in a large number of sheep which left Wellington by the Awatea on July 21, were six very attractive mixed aged stud Romney ewes consigned to one of the leading Romney breeders in Western Australia. These sheep, which are a great credit to the New Zealand Romney breed, were specially selected from the well-known “Mnngamaire” flock of Mr. ,T. E. Hewitt. Pahintua. The stud stock department of Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., were instructed to select six outstanding ewes of various ages for show purposes in Western Australia. _ . ceived from Australia during recent months, it is very encouraging to realize that the Australian Romney breeders are now aiming at quality in their stud Romneys, and these six ewes which are in lamb to Mr. Hewitt’s top sires and also contain some of the best blood in. his flock, will go a long way toward building up the good name that New Zealand has for stud stock. In all probability this small shipment will be the forerunner for further orders from Western Australia for high-class Romneys. Otane To Adelaide. The stud stock department of Dalgery and Co., Ltd., has recently shipped by the Waitaki from Wellington to a client of its Adelaide branch in South Australia, an attractive line of 70 Southdown hoggets, comprising 35 ewe hoggets and 35 ram hoggets, selected from the flock of Mr. A. Robottom, Otane, Hawke’s Bay.
