WELLINGTON MAORI CLUB

The Wellington Maori Club met this week, when an account of the early days of Wellington, Hutt and Petone was given. Mr. and Mrs. Hapi Love were the guests of the evening, and a round table talk was held. Mr. and Mrs. Love gave many interesting reminiscences, and spoke of the milliner in which the enny settlers worked with the Maoris and the grtod relationships that existed. The leading Maoris of the ’sixties and ’seventies wcro referred to, nnd some sidelights on Te Wharejiouri and Wi Take Ngatata were mentioned bv the speakers. Mr. W. W. Bird read a short paper.
