Surface Affected By Thawing Snow Dominion Special Service. NAPIER, August 3. The Napier-Taupo road, which had l>een blocked for two days, is now open, but the surface is seriously affected by thawing snow and only experienced drivers are advised to use this route. The secretary of the Automobile Association (Hawke’s Bay), Mr. C. V. Freedman, today recommended owners of small cars.to wait another day before attempting to get through, as many sections are still treacherous. Other Hawke's Bay roads are reported to be in good order.
