Army Liaison Officer ••The appointment of a liaison officer was a recommendation of the recent defence conference, and was one that the Government has adopted,” said the Minister of Defence, Mr. Jones, yesterday. in reference to the appointment of Major R. S. Park. R.N.Z.A., formerly district artillery officer, central military district, as New Zealand army liaison officer in London. Major Park will leave for England on August 11. "One of Major Park’s duties will he to keep closely in touch with what is raking place In Britain, and at the same time to be available to the authorities at Home .with respect to what NewZealand is doing.” the Minister said. “He will keep in touch there with new ideas in respect of both equipment and training, and will give New Zealand a connexion with these lines of progross.” Mr. Jones said that, another aspect of Major Park’s work would be to endeavour to expedite various orders that flic New Zealand Government had placed, and generally to keep track of
