GIRLS' FRIENDLY SOCIETY ANNUAL DANCE

The annual dance of the Girls' Friendly Society was held at the Hostel, 'Wellington, this week, and was a groat success. The comfortable lounge, which was used for dancing, was attractively decorated to represent a winter scene, with snow effects, and with gold and silver pendants on the walls. The rose-shaded lights gave a warm glow to the setting and to the pretty frocks of the girls. The guests were received by Miss Gleeson, the lady superintendent, who wore a handsome gown of black velvet. Miss Audrey Childs was secretary of the dance committee and was ably assisted by Misses Davidson, Fearnley, Wingfield and Priestly. Supper was prepared by a committee consisting of Misses Brown, Nicol,. Barnes and Richards. Among those present were: Mesdames Cook, Clapham, Johnson, Wareham and Ponder; Misses Richards Smith, S.
