THESPIAN PRODUCTION
“ ’The Flashing Stream’ is better than any 15 other plays produced iu London in the last decade,” wrote one critic iu a moment, perhaps, of reckless enthusiasm. Reckless or not, it is a fact that few plays have evoked such a remarkably unanimous tribute, from English critics as Charles Morganti brilliant first play, “'The Flashing Stream.’! Booklovers, of course, will need no introduction to the author of that universal best seller ‘‘The Fountain,” but it is perhaps somewhat.surprising that a novelist whose work is remarkable for quality and brilliant, vigorous prose style, rather than action, should succeed so well in a medium which requires action as an essential ingredient. That he lias succeeded is shown by James Agate's notice of the play, in which he describes it ns “a magnificent play, swift in action ami noble iu expression.” For real beauty, as well as absorbing interest, Wellington audiences have not for many years been offered a play equal to “The Flashing Stream,’’ which will be performed by the Thespians for a season of three nights beginning next Saturday. Those taking part iu the production, which is under the direction of Myles F. E. Wright, tire Eric Bradwell, Grace Wimsett, Stanley Vinsen, Iris Wright. Eric Evan-Young. J. A. Vaughan, Graeme Dowling, Frank Greer, Dick Poynter and lan Allan.
