The President has also earmarked £5,639,000 for the encouragement of larger families by a bonus. The new Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will be under the supervision of the Prime Minister, M. Daladier. The director of the former section will be Frances famous playwright, M. Jean Giraudoux, and of the latter Professor Jean Brillouin. CLEAN-UP OF SPIES Army Shorthand Writer Arrested PARIS. July 28. A shorthand writer named Amourelle, attached to the army committee, with access to secret documents, has been arrested in connexion with the spy scandal. Amourelle is a member of the pacifist wing of the Socialist Party, and is a former collaborator of M. Leon Blum, the ex-Premier.
