Radio Beacons Off Coast i Of Auckland By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, July 27. Within tbe next few weeks the assem- ' bling of the radio beacon equipment at Cuvier Island will be completed and. after the time required for testing and adjustment, this modern aid to navigation should be available for the guidance of vessels entering Hauraki Gulf. Some further months will be required for the completion of similar equipment nt Mok.au, Ilinau Island, but when both are in operation shipping approaching New Zealand from Panama and other Pacific ports and from tbe south will have the benefit of radio directional signals. Tbe provision of this modern aid to navigation will be of considerable ad vantage to masters approaching the gulf and will inspire them with great er confidence when making tbo port ot Auckland in thick weather. Tbe Ihiucoui will be o]x?rated regularly throughout 21 hours of the day. It is understood that a third radio beacon is to be erected on tbe North Auckland coast, probably in tbe extreme north, but tbe exact location as far as is known has not yet been decided.
