RHODODENDRON DELL AT KELBURN

Two Years Old On Arbor Day

The convener of the Kelburn branch of the Wellington Beautifying Society, Mrs. Charles Haines, reports that the rhododendron dell will be two years old on Arbor Day. The plants are doing well. It is hoped to intersperse a few natives, as shelter for those in exposed positions, during the coming planting season. The following amounts, for memorial trees in the dell, are appreciatively acknowledged: Dr. G. W. Harty, £1 1/-; .Miss Dix, 15/-. Small donations toward upkeep would be welcomed, specially as it is desired to present a neat and attractive appearance for the centennial celebrations. Up to date the beautifying society has received in subscriptions and donations the sum of £894/5/5, not including the £586 Johnston Hill Fund and £5l/3/- toward the Kelburn rhododendron delL
