SEDDON SHIELD
Match At Westport By Telegraph—Press Association. WESTPORT, July. 2S. Visitors are steadily coining into Westport for the initial match of the season for the Seddon Shield, between Marlborough (challengers) and Buller (holders). Heavy bookings have taken place at hotels, and the Buller Rugby Union has appealed to citizens to acquaint the union of any accommodation they can provide. Though Buller has missed the snowfalls so prevalent elsewhere, heavy rains have fallen in the last few days, and the ground will be heavy,'even if there is an improvement in the weather tomorrow.
Besides Marlborough, the. challenging side, there are two other visiting Rugby combinations from the same province, and also a basketball team, while a Christchurch railway team is also coming over to help give the weekend a really sporting aspect.
