DR. McILRAITH HONOURED

Members of the executive of the New Zealand Educational Institute gave a farewell to Dr. J. W. Mcllraith, retiring chief inspector of primary schools, at" a five o’clock party on Tuesday afternoon. The chairman, Mr. W. H Burgess, in extending to Dr. Mcllraith the best wishes of the institute for a long and happy retirement, remarked upon the guest’s widespread contacts with members of the teaching profession. Dr. Mcllraith expressed his thanks in a speech which covered many highlights of an eventful career in education.
