RUSSIAN DANCERS

Final Performance Tonight

The final performance by the company of dancers who were prominent in the Covent Garden Russian Ballet Company, which toured New Zealand recently, will be given tonight in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hail, Wellington.

They will .present a programme of ballets, as well ns folk and. traditional dances of which every item will be presented in the costume true to the period it represents.

The programme will include “Spectre de la Rose,” “Carnival,” “Les Matelots,” “Blue Bird,’’ “Les Sylphides,” and Russian and Spanish dances. The principals of this company are Valerie Shaievsky, Raissa Kousnetzova, Eduard Sobichcwsky, aud Fetruchc Orlova. Of special interest. to Wellingtoninns is the engaging of John Turner, for whom Anton Doiiu has predicted a gleaming future. John Turner is assisted by Lois Humphreys.

Feodor Pellack, brilliant pianist, will play.
