Elderly Woman . Struck By Motor-car WEEKEND ACCIDENTS When struck by a motor-car at the corner of Elizabeth Street and Brougham Street last night, Miss M. Hocking, an elderly woman, 88 Elizabeth Street, received an injury to ner right leg, abrasions, concussion and severe shock. She was carried about 20 feet by the motor-car before it came to a stop. Miss Hocking was taken to the Wellington Public Hospital by the Free Ambulance.
As the result of a fall from a motorcycle Jie was learning to ride, Mr. E. Graham, milk roundsman, 27 Lawrence Street, received slight concussion, a broken nose, injuries to his face, and a lacerated wound on his forehead. The accident occurred in Owen Street, shortly after 0.30 p.m. on Saturday. The Free 2kmbulance took him to hospital._ Mr. J. C. 2knderson, waterside worker, 99 Hobart Street, was knocked down by a motor-car at the corner of Hobart Street and Devonshire Road, Miramar, at 8.25 p.m. on Saturday. He was taken to hospital with an injured left knee and elbow.
Struck by a motor-car at 9.20 p.m. on Saturday, at' the corner of Wakefield and Taranaki Streets, Mr. 2k. Toselaud, labourer, 68 Abel Smith Street, was taken to hospital with head injuries and shock. A boy of eleven, Kenneth Taylor, 10 Stafford Street, injured bis left leg while wrestling with a companion at 1.30 p.m. on Saturday. The Free Ambulance took him to hospital. N. Gunn, a member of the South Auckland Rugby League team which played Wellington in the New Zealand trial game at Newtown Park, had the fingers of his left hand dislocated.
J. Cooper, battery maker. 129 Vivian Street, a member of the Wellington team, received concussion aud was also taken to hospital. His condition yesterday was reported to be satisfactory. Other football injuries "were as follows: ■ —E. Burns, warehouseman, 22 Clifton Terrace, injury to left knee, while playing at 'Wakefield Park; J. Henry, springsmith, 11 Regent Street, Petone, injury to face while playing at Kilbirnie Park; R. Black, clerk, 5 Ngaio Road, Kelburn, dislocated left knee, while playing at Kilbirnie Park; R. Roberta, shop assistant, Mahina Bay, slight concussion, while playing on the Hutt Recreation Ground ; G. Sim, school teacher, 281 Coutts Street, Kilbirnie, injury to left leg while playing on the Hutt Recreation Ground.
