ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
Two important Association football fixtures will be played on the Basin Reserve, Wellington, this afternoon. On he No. 1 ground there will be a replay between Hospital and Swifts in the Chatham Cup competition, necessitated by these teams having drawn m their previous meeting, when, after extra time had been allowed, the scores were two goals each. Judged by the previous eucounter, today’s game should be hist <la«s. Hospital are noted for their dogged defence and long-range kicking, and Swifts plav a fast, short-passing game. On the No. 2 ground a championship game will be played between Waterside and Seatoun. Waterside beat Seatoun by one goal to nil in the first round, after a most exciting and spectacular game. Seatoun are confident that they will on this occasion turn the tables on their opponents. Should il'atoun win they will be suitably placed for championship honours, but Waterside are equally deteirniinod to wiu today. Both games will begin at. 2.30. and will be preceded by cur-tain-raisers.
Marist will play Petone, at Petone; aud Diamond will play Technical, at Kelburn.
