Kiwi’s Book Corner

“The Circus is Coming,” by N. Streatfield.

Boys and girls-who read and enjoyed “Ballet Shoes” and “Tennis Shoes” are sure to enjoy this new book by the same author. '

Two children, Peter and Santa, run away from home for fear of being sent to orphanages. They know they have an uncle who travels with a circus, and So they set out to find him. He turns out to be the clown in Cob's Circus, which just then is tenting in the north of England. Peter and Santa find their uncle, and from that moment he looks after them and his caravan becomes their home. Their adventures in this new life, the friends they make, and the accounts of the performing sealioris, horses, dogs and elephants all make a book that is well worth reading “Arthur Rackham Fairy Book.” Here is a collection of old tales Which the younger boys and girls will enjoy. Dick Whittington, Jack and the Beanstalk, Sin-bad the Sailor; The Ugly Duckling, Aladdin and his Wonderful Lamp, these and many other stories are beautifully illustrated by Arthur Rackham, and even little brothers and sisters who cannot read will enjoy looking at the pictures.
