What, was described by Detective-Ser-geant W. .Murray as u despicable type of theft resulted in the appearance of a woman aged 20 before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.AL, in the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, yesterday. Alurray said that the woman was staying with a Airs. Larsen. She was shown the trousseau of Airs. Larsen's daughter, and, taking advantage of the owner's absence, she stole from it two tablecloths valued at £4/10/-. Accused had been before the Court earlier this month charged with the theft of a wallet and £lO in cash, and had been admitted to probation. A position bad since been found for her. The magistrate ordered her to come up for sentence within three months, ,and ordered the suppression of her name.
