Wellington Market Easy

Little change was seen yesterday in the Wellington stock and share market, which remained quiet. The recorded turnover was about the same as earlier in the week. Government stocks were generally easy at about late rates. Two lots of 4 per cent, stock, 1052-55, went at £9a/10/-, and one of 31 per cent.,/1939-43, at £JB 12/6. There was little call for banks. Unions sold unchanged at £B, and Commercial of Australia were quoted lower at 15/9, sellers asking 16/-. Industrials, whether New Zealand or Australian, attracted little attention in the quotations list, but several sales were reported after the last call. Australian ' Consolidated Industries \ .sold' lower at 37/3, Broken Hill Proprietary were unchanged at 65/6, W. R. Carpenters eased to -13/9, aftd Woolworths, Ltd. to 23/8.
