BOY FALLS FROM BRIDGE

When returning home from school with other boys yesterday afternoon, Ray Johns, aged 6, son of Mr. A. R. Johns, Te Aroha, stopped to play on the Ruakaka Bridge and slipped from the railings into the Tunakohioa Stream, a distance of 16ft., striking his JiMd on the bottom. A passer-by, Mr. J. Excell, rescued him from the stream and artificial respiration methods were successful. The boy suffered a severely fractured skull and was taken to the Waikato hospital, where his condition is reported to be serious.
