Scouts And Esperanto

Sir,—l must take exception to the views on Scouts and Esperanto expressed by your correspondent, Stewart Moore. The scoutmaster of the group concerned has the great Brotherhood of Scouts very much at heart, and, as Esperanto is taught in almost every country. he may quite confidently expect that at least one scout in each foreign contingent will be able to converse in Esperanto. The group has been fortunate in securing the services of a capable tutor, and I think it deplorable that anyone should attempt to discredit either his services or the wisdom of the scoutmaster in taking advantage of an opportunity to have his scouts instructed in a useful subject.—l am, etc., SCOUTER.
