Dominion Championship By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH,June 20. The South Island and New Zealand championship dog trials were continued at Tai Tapu today in cold, showery weathere. , The South Island loug head championship was won by E. G. Rutherford s (Parnassus) Star, with 581 points, J. Milligan’s (Fairlie) Miss Mae being second with 58 points, and A. T. Miller's (Southland) Glen third with points. M. A. M. Theson’s (Middlemarch) Berwick Don, 56J points, J. W. McGaveston’s (Waipukurau) Dick, 56 points W. Dam-pier-Crossley’s (Rotherham) Duke, osj points, and J. McCrae’s Whitney Dick, oa points, were the next four highest scoring °The seven dogs ran off for the New Zealand long head championship and the total points aggregated the result: McRae’s Whitney Dick, ,110> points, 1; McGaveston’s Dick, 10SJ. 2; DampierCrossley’s Duke, 107, 3; Milligan’s Miss Mac, 1064, 4. The New Zealand championship was run in unfavourable conditions, and the work was not up to the standard of that in the South Island championship. The yarding event was begun and may be completed tomorrow.
