Increased Sales In Britain (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 17. Sales of all classes of motor vehicles in Great Britain for the seven months ended April, 1939, showed an increase of 3 per cent, over the corresponding period a year previously. Sales of private cars increased by 7.5 per cent. Exports of private cars for May showed an increase of 14.8 per cent, over May, 1938, and, despite the fact that exports of commercial vehicles are still below the level of 1938, the total value of all vehicles exported during May exceeded that month last year by 200,000.
