VIENNA BOYS’ CHOIR
Second Programme Tonight Though there are 19 singers standing in a double a’ow on either side of the grand pianoforte in. the Town Hall, Wellington, the volume of the Vienna Mozart Boys’ Choir is not great. The boys are small, and 'tilieir -tone is extremely light, nevertheless, such bus been their training, 'partly under Dr. George Graber, who conducts the choir, that 'the effect .is that of a light string orchestra playing pianissimo, sweet in timbre and always true. The first programme was presented for the last time last night. It included sixteenth century numbers, an operetta in costume, “Tales From the Vienna Woods,” which had been arranged' by Dr. Gruber, and a -variety of folk songs new to Wellington. Dr. Gruber is a conductor of distinction, being formerly associated with the Haydn Basilica Choir and the Vienna Male Choir. He presents a programme calculated to please an extensive variety of tastes. The 'second' .programme of the Wellington season will ibe presented tonight.
