DAWN PARADE
Details Of Ceremony Details of the ceremony of remembrance to be held at the Wellington Citizens’ War Memorial at dawn on Anzac Day, next Tuesday, were discussed by the executive of the Wellington Returned Soldiers’ Association with Lieutenant-Colonel R. B. Ashe, president of the Australian Imperial Forces Association of Wellington, and Mr. T. Ashton, secretary, last night. The parade is being arranged jointly by the two associations, and Colonel Ashe will be in command. Arrangements for buses to carry exservicemen and the general public to the ceremony were approved. Returned soldiers will fall in in Bunny Street, opposite the railway station, marching nt 5.30 a.m. to the memorial with as little noise as possible. After the service at the memorial, which will begin with the tiring of ji gun, the men will salute the memorial and march, back to Bunny Street. After dismissal they will lie given coffee and biscuits without charge. The ogicers of the two ex-service-men’s associations expect the parade, which is the first dawn parade for all returned soldiers to be held In Wellington, to be an inspiring event, and hope that there will, be a large attendance of the public as well as of their comrades.
