"CAPPICADE, 1939”
The major production on the programme of "Cappicade, 1939,” the extravaganzas by the students of Victoria University College, Wellington, which will begin a season in the New Opera House next Saturday, is "The Vikings.” This deals witli the European situation during the past few months, and takes the form of an elaborate musical comedy, incorporating excellent ballet work, snappy dialogue, good music, and lavish staging, The story is set iu ancient times, but the manner in which present-day characters are worked into the theme is clever. The two other productions are - “Adam In Wonderland,” and “The Dinkum Oil” in which a men’s ballet provides entertainment up to the usual high standard. The “Cappicade” booklet is now on sale. The proceeds from the sale of these and from “Cappicade. 1939.” will be devoted to the Students’ Building Fund.
