North Broken Hill New Plant Ore treatment by the new concentrating mill of the North Broken Hill, Ltd., began last week. The company reports that the plant is working satisfactorily. The installation of new general plant and equipment, which, including the new mill, involves heavy capital expenditure, io expected to be completed in a lew months. It is expected to bring about a reduction in operating costs and a higher recovery of metals. The new mill is equipped to deal with both the sulphide ore, constituting the bulk of the mine’s existing and potential ore reserves, and with the substantial tonnage of oxidized -and semi-oxidized ore still existing in the British. Sir Colin Fraser, presiding at the last annual meeting of the company, explained that the object of the programme was to meet low metal prices and increasing costs by large output and high metallurgical efficiency. Bulolo Gold Production Bulolo Gold Dredging, Limited, reports that for the month of March the total gross production amounted to 16.GSG ounces of bullion, containing 11,513 ounces of fine gold from 1,275,000 cubic yards. Estimated working profit 814 G ounces of fine gold. The above production is equivalent to £100,739, and working profit to £71,277. on the basis of £B/15/(Australian) a fine ounce of gold.
