Final Dividend Unchanged BONUS TO STAFF The directors of the Bank of New Zealand announce that, subject to audit, it will be recommended at the annual meeting of shareholders, to be held on June 16 next, that a final dividend of 1/- a share be paid to the ordinary shareholders for the last half-year, making, the distribution the same as for the previous year. . . A bonus of li per cent, on all salaries as at March *3l, 1939, has been granted to the staff of the Bank of New Zealand. An interim dividend of 1/- a share was paid on December 10. With the final dividend of a similar amount now announced, the distribution for the financial year ended March 31, 1939, will be at the unchanged rate of 1G per cent. Interim dividends were paid on December 10 as follows:—On preference A shares (N.Z. Government), £50,000; on C long-term mortgage shares (N.Z. Government), £7031/5/-; D long-term mortgage shares, £17,578/2/0; on preference B shares (N.Z. Government), £31,250; on ordinary shares, £18'7,500; total, £293,359/7/0. The payment of a final dividend of 1/a share on the ordinary shares will amount to £187,500, making a total of £375,000 for the year ended March 31, 1939. Other final dividends payable in June are:—On 0 long-term mortgage shares (N.Z. Government), at 0 per eentr per annum, £7031/5/-; on D long-term mortgage shares at 7-A per <?ent. per annum, £17,578/2/6; on preference B shares (N.Z. Government), making £lOO,OOO for the year, £68,750. The total distribution in dividends for the year will thus amount to £574,218 15/-. The paid capital of the Bank of New Zealand amounts to £6,328,125. made up as follows:—Preference A fully-paid £1 shares issued to the N.Z. Government, £500,000; C long-term mortgage fullypaid £1 shares issued to the N.Z. Government, £234,375; D long-term mortgage fully-paid £1 shares, £168,750; preference B fully-paid £1 shares issued to the N.Z. Government, £1,375,000; ordinary fully-paid £1 shares, £3,750,000.
