Monterey Not Greatly Delayed

By Telegraph- Press Association

AUCKLAND, March 30

Fears that waterfront trouble in San Francisco would seriously affect the southbound schedule of the Matson liner Monterey were dispelled today when Henderson and MacFarlane, Limited, the company’s Auckland agents, received a cablegram stating that the ship would leave for New Zealand and Australia via Los Angeles tcdii.v. San Francisco time. The Monterey, which lias beei: delayed two days behind her schedule, should reach Auckland on Apiil 15. a day late. No advice lias been received concerning the cause of tlie dispute, which was apparently of .-bort duration. Tlie Monterey will bring het lull quota of cargo from San Francisco and Los Angeles. The freight includes a shipment of Californian oranges for the Internal Marketing Board.

Advice of amended arrival dales of the liner at Honolulu. Pago Pago, Suva and Auckland will be contained in further cabled information. It is considered. however, that tlie vessel's reserve of speed after allowing for scheduled calls should result in her programme being only a day behind when Auckland is reached on Saturday. April 15. Her schedule should be resinned for the return voyage from Ans'ralia
