A few days out of Suva, the fifth engineer of the tanker W. B. Walker was taken seriously ill. A wireless call to th? Niagara resulted in a diagnosis of acute appendicitis. The Niagara wars diverted 1<»O miles out of her course, the patient was transferred to her and a successful operation was carried out.
