Farmer Urges Competitions Under War Conditions Dominion Special Service. MASTERTON. March 20. Cooper al a meeting of lhe Wairarapa provincial executive of the Farmers I nion today when advice was received that it had been decided to revert to match conditions for lhe farmers’ shooting competitions. Mr. Cooper advocated shooti„.. under war conditions—2<W to -->OO yards with telescopic sights. Anything less than that was only playing with position, be said, though it might be all right for amusement. It was surprising wlmt. could be done ill a country like New Zealand with the rille. . Mr. J. H. McDonald said match tiring was most interesting to rille clubs, but all of them' realized the value of service shooting. lie understood that clubs- were applying to the Minister ol Defence for rilles with telescopic sights. Service shooting was not being neglected by the clubs.
