LONDON WOOL SALES
Keen Competition Continues By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. LONDON, March IS. The results of the March series of wool sales are considered as most satisfactory. Keen competition is maintained arid prices remain' at the full level of the opening rates. Catalogues generally are being xveil cleared the moderate withdrawals being due to high selling limits placed on the wool. Buyers apparently regard present prices as satisfactory and the existini; awkward international position has not deterred them from operating. Proposals have been brought forward bj r brokers for increasing the delivery charges by l-Bd. a lb. It has also been proposed to make other changes in connection with the sales, and the matter was discussed at a meeting of the committee of the Colonial. Wool Buyers' Association, but. no decision was reached. It is understood that these proposals were designed to attract more wool to London, but the buyers contend that this object was more likely to be attained by reducing the present charges rather than increasing them.
