BACON PIG JUDGING

Johnson and Co., Kiripa’ka, gained first, second, third and fifth placings in the Whangarei section* of the national bacon pig championship, judged on tlie hoof at the Whangarei show. Innes Weaver, Whangarei, was awarded fourth place.

Pigs judged on tlie hoof were later killed at the Moerewa freezing works and judged on the hooks. H. E. Johnson and Company carried off all of five placings. The pigs have yet to be judged as bacon at the Whangarei winter show.
