TRADE MISSION

British Minister Leaves On European Visit (British Official Wireless.) (Received March 19, 7.5 p.m.) RUGBY, March IS. The Parliamentary Secretary for Overseas Trade, Mr. R. S. Hudson, left tonight on a visit to Warsaw. Moscow and other North European capitals. He was accompanied for the purpose of these trade talks by Mr. Ashton Gwatkin, head of the Economic Relations Department at the Forign Office, in addition to officials of his own department. “The Times” in a leader said there was no ground for allowing the deplorable happenings in Central Europe to interfere with any part of the programme except the projected visit to Berlin, since, if the Berlin talks must be abandoned, it only makes it more desirable to improve commercial relations with other countries which are prepared to encourage the development of mutual trade on equitable terms and thus take the necessary first step toward a more effective economic collaboration between the nations which value stability and progress.
