Some Heavy Scoring SEVERAL CENTURIES Some high scoring was seen in the lower grade championship matches played under the control of the Wellington Cricket Association on Saturday. Kiibirnie ran up 426 for seven wickets to pass Wellington College Old Boys’ first innings total of 404, 830 runs thus being scored for the loss of 17 wickets. Webster made 132 for the winners. Ross Wright, better known as a footballer, compiled 100 not out for Brooklyn against Hutt in the junior A grade. Plowman made 101 not out for Kiibirnie against Railways in the same grade. ■ University ran up the big total of 511 in the junior C grade against Institute, Lachlan and Betts topping the century. COLLEGE CRICKET St. Patrick’s, Silverstream, Beat St. Bede’s St. Bede’s College, Christchurch, was beaten by 104 runs by St. Patrick's College, Silverstream, in the annual first elevens’ match, which concluded at Silverstream on Saturday. St. Bede's made 119 and 55; St. Patrick’s 131 and 147. .On the second day’s play on Saturday, the fast wicket, which suited O’Donnell ideally, had St. Bede's in difficulties. When St. Bede’s went in they needed 160 to win, but O’Donnell took live wickets quickly, and the complexion of the game changed, leaving St. Patrick’s easy winners. A feature of the match was the good fielding of both elevens, particularly St. Patrick’s. Details are:—
