GOLDEN WEDDING
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. J. Jacobs A social gathering was recently held in the Masonic Hall, Masterton, to honour Mr. and Mrs. J. AV. J. Jacobs on the occasion of their golden wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs, who have lived at The Terrace, Lansdowne, for the past 20 years, are well-known and highrespected citizens, and many friends gathered to congratulate them on their fiftieth anniversary. Many relatives from various parts of New Zealand were present, and congratulatory telegrams were read from all parts of New Zealand and Australia, At a suitable moment Mr. G. Davis presented Mrs. Jacobs with a beautiful cameo brooch, and Mr. Jacobs with a gold pencil. Numbers of friends spoke, extending congratulations and wishes for many years of continued health and happiness. The evening was spent in dancing and games, and supper was served by the hostesses.
