"Pygmalion" Draws Big Houses In Christchurch

r pHE successful runs of the G.B.D. release “Pygmalion,” which began last October at the Leicester Square Theatre, London, and continued at New Yqrk, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane are likely to be continued still further in this Dominion. The New Zealand premiere of George Bernard Shaw’s most brilliant comedy, took place at the Civic Theatre, Christchurch on Friday last. For last Saturday’s evening performance, every seat in the theatre was reserved before noon, with the result that the ordinary ticket boxes at the theatre could not be opened. The “Press” states that “Pygmalion” is a picture that people wni so two or three times to see.
